Wattpad is a site that hosts both original and fanworks and found popularity in the early 2010s with fanfictions based on popular boy bands like One Direction. Wattpad allows its users to comment on each line of the work, inviting its readers to leave reviews more like commentary than a standard review. Several works on the site have gained mainstream popularity, like After, a One Direction fanfiction that was recently turned into a (non-fanfiction) movie. The site uses a tagging system similar to FanFiction.net, though it is more commonly used to separate original works from fanfiction.
